Strategic Agent: Navigating the Web3 Frontier since its Dawn. Web3

The Dawn of Crypto: Distinguishing Signal from Noise (2016–2018)

My journey in the Web3 space began around 2016, a period marked by the initial wave of global ICOs and the launch of crypto exchanges by my friend who was the CEO of a Japanese listed company. It was a "Wild West" era—a chaotic mix of visionary tech and dubious schemes. Amidst this volatility, I handled high-stakes projects, such as facilitating the Royal Mint’s research in the Japanese market. This experience honed my ability to look past the hype and identify technologies with genuine substance.

The L1 Challenge and Geopolitical Realities

Recognizing that Layer-1 (L1) platforms would become the bedrock of the ecosystem, I joined a Chinese L1 project to lead their Japan entry. What started as a recruitment role quickly turned into a trial by fire as I stepped in as the interim lead. I witnessed firsthand the friction between aggressive startup culture and Japanese business ethics—from extravagant spending to "announcement-first" PR tactics that jeopardized relationships with major Japanese corporations. As US-China decoupling began to reshape the geopolitical landscape, I visited the Beijing headquarters and made the strategic decision to part ways, prioritizing long-term integrity.

The Algorand Era: Bridging Tech and Compliance (2019–Present)

In 2019, I discovered Algorand through a podcast. Impressed by its MIT-led technical foundation and transparent philosophy, I reached out directly to the then-COO. This connection led to my appointment as one of my first ambassadors. While early efforts focused on exhibitions and community building, I observed two significant hurdles in Japan: the tendency for "communities" to resemble multi-level marketing schemes, and the inherent resistance from traditional firms to embrace the disintermediation that blockchain brings.

A New Strategic Path Today,

I operate with a refined focus: I believe the optimal path for the Japanese market is the localized deployment of proven, successful global applications. To empower Japanese projects to compete on the world stage, I have established a strategic partnership with a specialized Web3 law firm in the UAE. Together, we are committed to building a sustainable Web3 business landscape grounded in strict regulatory compliance.

Algorand
